Its singular feature is the canopy, supported by four finely fluted pilasters. It is composed of two parts: the seat, surrounded by cushions, and the canopy, made of sculpted wrought iron, topped with a delicate plume.

The upholstery work on the seat is a pure expression of the artisan’s traditional skills. The bed frame is made of patined wooden rails, with a hemp latting, covered with a linen slip, which is sewn with invisible stitching. This provides comfortable, supple support for your pet. The cushion fills the space between the four pilasters, and is retained by removable hooks, which help keep its shape. The advantage of this design is that the fabric can be easily removed, to facilitate cleaning.

In keeping with the overall elegance of the piece, all stitching is passpoiles. Furthermore, the four draped swags, the prominent bands of embroidered cloth decorating the pilasters, provide a soft fullness to the overall appearance. The delicate pleating under the four curtains adds to the overall proportions of the piece.

The four swags are fitted with hidden Velcro strips, allowing for easy removal and cleaning. So much more can be said about this beautiful piece, displaying such fine details. The drapery is carefully embroidered with floral motifs, and lined with fine check-patterned silk, accompanied with (ambrasses) providing a counterpoint to the dominant floral patterns.

Finally, the last touch of our upholsterer craftsman is an ornamental ribbon, deeply embroidered in an intense green, which underlines its pure lines.
